HS Codes for Shipping from the US to the UK
Since Brexit, the UK uses its own 10-digit UK Global Tariff (UKGT). The first 6 digits still match the international HS code, but the UK-specific extension and rates may differ from the EU CN.

Code format
The UK uses a 10-digit commodity code under the UK Global Tariff. The first 6 digits are the international HS code; digits 7–10 are the UK extension.
Required documentation
Commercial invoice, packing list, transport document, UK commodity code, UK EORI number (starts with GB), and origin documentation if claiming a preferential rate.
Duty and VAT
UK import duty at UKGT rates. VAT is 20% standard, charged on duty + freight + insurance. Postponed VAT Accounting (PVA) lets registered importers defer VAT to their VAT return.
